Cruise ships visiting Belfast
A Busy July Ahead as 29 Cruise Calls Bring More Than 60,000 Visitors to Belfast
Belfast is set for another busy month as 29 cruise ship visits are scheduled throughout July, bringing an estimated 60,000 plus passengers and crew into the city.
From intimate expedition vessels carrying fewer than 200 guests to some of the world’s largest cruise ships with almost 5,000 visitors on board, July showcases the growing variety of cruise tourism arriving in Belfast.
Among the month’s highlights is Majestic Princess, one of the largest ships to visit Belfast this summer. The 330 metre vessel will make two calls, on 14 and 25 July, bringing almost 5,000 visitors each time.
Another standout arrival is Queen Anne, Cunard’s newest flagship, which returns to Belfast on 28 July with more than 4,200 passengers expected to explore the city and beyond.
Regular visitors also return throughout the month, including Norwegian Sky, making three separate calls, alongside Mein Schiff 2, Viking Jupiter and Majestic Princess, reflecting Belfast’s growing importance on Northern European cruise itineraries.
Luxury cruise lines remain well represented too. Guests travelling aboard Seven Seas Grandeur, Seabourn Venture, Seabourn Ovation, Le Lapérouse, Azamara Quest, Europa, Corinthian and Amadea will enjoy smaller ship experiences while visiting the city.
The schedule also welcomes familiar favourites including Borealis, Bolette, Nieuw Statendam, Celebrity Eclipse, Spirit of Discovery, Aurora, Aidabella, Amera and Ocean Victory.
Most ships will berth at Belfast Cruise Terminal, while a number of smaller vessels will dock at Gotto Wharf.
For many passengers, Belfast serves as a gateway to attractions across Northern Ireland, with excursions heading to the Giant’s Causeway, Titanic Belfast, Hillsborough Castle and the city’s museums, pubs and shopping districts.
For locals, the arrivals offer another reminder of Belfast’s growing reputation as one of the UK’s leading cruise destinations. Throughout July there will be almost daily opportunities to spot cruise ships arriving along Belfast Lough, with thousands of visitors stepping ashore to experience everything the city has to offer.
