Killashee in Naas has a reputation for excellent hospitality; we’ve experienced it on a number of occasions over the years. It’s one of our favourites. That Irish charm has a new reason to impress guests with the latest addition to the hotel, The Manor House.
The Manor House at Killashee is a boutique hotel within a hotel, a collection of beautiful suites created in the original house.
The house dates back to 1861, and was home to the St. Leger Moore family for many years and even back then it was renowned for its warm hospitality and legendary parties.
After a major refurbishment, the hotel and The Manor House welcomes a new generation of guests. A fine example of Victorian architecture, this magnificent Manor House retains many of its authentic features with its separate entrance leading to The Parlour and The Drawing Room, The Great Hall, and 12 new suites. Each of the 12 suites tell the captivating story of Killashee from its past as a Victorian hunting lodge and as it is today. Luxuriously furnished with classically styled furniture, many with freestanding antique baths, each has its own unique character.
After checking in for your stay in the main hotel reception, you enter The Manor House to the left of reception and walk along a corridor into the original house. Beyond the staircase, which takes you up to the suites (there’s no lift), you’ll find the Victorian luxury of the parlour and drawing room. Both are quiet places to escape from the buzz of the main hotel. And if you fancy testing your musical skills there’s a piano just waiting to be played (of course I did!).
The suites are a delight, each one is unique. Our suite was as big as one floor in our house, it had a large bedroom with an en-suite and a separate sitting room to relax in and enjoy the views over the hotel gardens and Irish countryside.
As a guest in The Manor House you can of course dine in both The Pippin Tree and Oak & Anvil restaurants where you can enjoy an elevated culinary experience by Executive Head Chef Phillip Gleeson and relax in the Larkspur Lounge with light bites and drinks. As with everything about this hotel, the hospitality is a pleasure and our meal in The Pippin Tree was amazing.
In a separate building and a couple minutes walk away you’ll find the Spa at Killashee with 15 treatment rooms which include a Dry Floatation Suite, a Rasul Chamber and relaxation suite as well as access to the Hydrotherapy Suite and the leisure centre.
As Spring arrives at Killashee and Easter just around the corner they have a number of promotions running for short breaks.
