room2 Transforms Coffee Waste into Seasonal Magic with its Circular Christmas Celebrations
This year, room2, the UK’s first hometel brand, is reimagining the festive season with its brand-new Circular Christmas offering. As part of its zero-waste commitment, room2 is giving the season a unique, circular twist, transforming everyday coffee waste into festive magic through a selection of thoughtful gifts and experiences.
Taking place across its Chiswick, Southampton, and Belfast locations, room2’s circular Christmas celebrations will run from 1st to 31st December.
Recognised as a leader in sustainable hospitality, room2 is committed to building and operating net zero properties. On average, a stay at room2 generates 76% less carbon per night than a standard UK hotel. This year, that same spirit of innovation is shaping its Christmas celebrations, proving that sustainability can be merry, meaningful, and beautifully made.
Turning Coffee Waste into Festive Joy:
• 3D Printed Tree Ornaments: Guests can take home their own piece of sustainable Christmas magic with room2’s limited-edition gingerbread men and landmark tree ornaments, crafted from its recycled coffee grounds. Available to purchase exclusively at room2, live 3D printing will take place on-site, where guests can sip on barista-crafted coffee whilst watching their unique ornaments come to life. £1 from every ornament sold will be donated to local homelessness charities, supporting SPEAR London, The People’s Kitchen, Belfastand Street Support, Southampton.

• Coffee-Ground Soap: Waste coffee grounds are also being transformed into handmade natural soaps, crafted specially for room2 and sold in limited quantities on-site. With subtle coffee notes and a gentle exfoliating texture, these locally made artisan bars are a celebration of circular design and perfect as stocking fillers or thoughtful gifts.

• Low-Waste Festive Coffee Cocktails: The circular celebrations continue at the bar, where coffee becomes the star ingredient. Crafted by room2’s bartenders using its own reclaimed coffee grounds, this indulgent festive cocktail is available in both alcoholic and alcohol-free versions. Plus, in the true spirit of community giving, £1 from every cocktail sold will be donated to room2’s local homelessness charities.
Circular Christmas is part of room2’s larger circular design ambition led by its Circular Design Manager, Josh Renouf, who has created an exciting collection of products out of coffee waste, fitted within selected room2 hometels and due to launch to the public in 2026. The collection includes lamp shades, bins, and bits and bobs boxes, designed to close the loop on hotel waste and reintroduce waste materials back into room2 hometel operations.
