art’otel: A one of a kind London hotel

art’otel London Hoxton in the heart of London’s Hoxton and Shoreditch neighbourhoods, is a one-of-a-kind hotel experience, fusing art and design to add something special to London’s 2 popular neighbourhoods.

The hotel is located on Rivington Street, a few minutes walk from Old Street Underground station, and close to Liverpool Street Station. We travelled on the Belfast City airport to London City airport route, boarded the DLR to Bank Station then connected with the Northern Line to Old Street station. It was an easy journey, and from Old Street station we looked out for the rather tall iconic building a few minutes walk away.

The hotel is an artists treat, from the 2 original Banksy’s above the entrance and the many pieces by D*Face (their signature artist). Outside their restaurant (The Brush Grand Cafe) is a massive paintbrush, and round the corner is a fun reimagined red phone box, with the 2 Banksy walls above. There are D*Face touches everywhere; in the rooms (including some items you can buy and take home with you), at reception, in the bar.. everywhere. At the entrance as you go upstairs to reception you pass through an awesome digital installation setting the scene and welcoming you to the Art’otel.

The hotel itself boasts 357 art-inspired guest bedrooms and suites all with unique skyline views and 48 luxury suites. The rooms are large with floor to ceiling windows and views out over the London skyline. For an even better view we were recommended to check out the gym on the 26th floor for its almost 360-degree view, it didn’t disappoint. On the floor below, the hotel is getting ready to open their new restaurant and bar with full 360-degree views.

On the ground floor is The Brush Grand Cafe. The cafe circles around the bottom of the iconic building with an additional outdoor terrace area to sit and enjoy an al fresco meal. It’s also where you enjoy your impressive breakfast spread, treat yourself, it’s worth it.

In the lower ground floor you’ll find the hotel spa, with an indoor pool, treatment rooms, sauna and steam room. Opposite the spa entrance is the hotel art gallery space, a space where you can immerse yourself in one of the regular exhibitions hosted by the hotel.

Art’otel Hoxton is up there amongst one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in, and with a breakfast to match that.

Rooms at art’otel London Hoxton start at £200 per night.
