Pinocchio has arrived at the Grand Opera House and the stage is packed with familiar faces and of course May McFettridge herself for her 35th record breaking panto.
You’ll already know and expect, Paddy Jenkins as Jiminy Cricket and Adam C Booth as Pinocchio. Jolene O’Hara plays the villain Stromboli and Philippa O’Hara, Jolene’s sister, plays The Fox. Completing the line-up are Jayme-Lee Zanoncelli, and Maeve Byrne.
From the get go this production is coordinated mayhem, as May kicks things off by picking on the front 2 rows with the same old banter you could almost write it yourself, and it’s still funny.
The show is all glitter and glam with over the top costumes, pyrotechnics, flying and Pinocchio’s ever growing nose. You have a superb guest appearance by Oasis, the most hectic rendition of A Sailor Went to Sea, and an abundance of farting!
You’re never too old to let your inner child out at the Grand Opera House panto. As always it’s chaotic, fun and joyful. To enjoy it at its best you need to join in.. sing, boo, shout and embrace the craic. And as always the Panto at the Opera House feels like the start of Christmas joy.
