A Night That Stayed With Me in Belfast

A Night That Stayed With Me in Belfast

Some nights stay with you.

Last Saturday night left me with a feeling I can’t quite shake.

KEiiNO brought the energy to the Voodoo stage, Belfast answered it, and for a while the whole room just felt… alive.

Early on, my partner pointed to someone dancing and said, “look, he’s living his best life.”

And it caught me off guard.

Because it made me realise how often we watch joy instead of stepping into it.

So I made a small decision.

I danced.

Not for anyone else. Not even particularly well. Just enough to feel it.

And in that moment, I thought of my late brother. He would have encouraged it instantly. To move, to feel, to not sit on the edges of something meant to be lived.

So I didn’t.

And today, that feeling is still there.

A timely reminder that sometimes joy isn’t something you wait for.

It’s something you step into.
