Belfast Harbour has announced a £350,000 Community Fund for 2026, continuing its strong commitment to supporting people and communities across Belfast and Northern Ireland. This new funding brings the Harbour’s total investment in community and charity projects to more than £3.5 million over the past ten years.
As a Trust Port, Belfast Harbour reinvests its success back into the places and people it serves. The Community Fund is about making a real difference; helping communities grow stronger, supporting wellbeing, and creating opportunities that last.
Building on previous years, the 2026 programme will support both long-standing partners and new organisations. Funding will focus on areas that matter most to local people, including skills and jobs, young people, community strength, and protecting the environment.
The programme has been welcomed by Communities Minister Gordon Lyons, who highlighted the importance of investing in projects that help people and communities thrive.
In 2025, funding supported 30 grassroots organisations and encouraged groups to work together on creative community projects. In 2026, Belfast Harbour will continue to support cultural organisations such as the Ulster Orchestra and the Belfast International Arts Festival, recognising the positive impact of arts and culture on confidence, learning and connection.
Together, these investments show a clear commitment to sharing success and building a brighter future where communities feel supported, valued and empowered.
