Review: New Day Spa package at The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat

Review: New Day Spa package at The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat

The award winning Rabbit Hotel & Retreat, a 33-bedroom boutique hotel and spa, located in Templepatrick, has been dramatically transformed to include a £2 million Relaxation Burrow spa area which opened in 2021.

Perched by the edge of a stunning lake, the spa area offers total tranquillity, boasts a Swedish sauna with views overlooking the retreat, an aromatherapy steam room, a halotherapy salt chamber and Roman inspired bath with a feature disco ball hanging above, hot tubs and a heated beach!

The Rabbit is the first hotel in the island of Ireland to offer a heated lakeside beach complete with a Lake Bar, sunken lounge and plush cabanas for a laid back, luxurious experience.

Initially opening as a residents only retreat, the luxurious spa are now offering a Day Spa package with full spa access (8am-2pm), lunch, and 60-minute spa treatment, all from £135.

We’ve been and it might well be our favourite new Spa experience locally. It’s just an adorable space with a very chilled out Balearic vibe, a great sized Roman inspired bath and of course with that disco ball hanging above. It’s all very instagram friendly. There are a lot of experiences packed into the multilevel Spa space. Relax on the quirky heated beach area, warm up in the steam room and sauna, refresh yourself under the outdoor cold shower bucket, dream on the cabana waterbeds, sip a cocktail at the bar and relax over lunch with a friend in your fluffy gown and slippers.

The day spa package includes a 60 minute treatment of your choice. The Serenity Candle Massage was recommended for me. You choose your massage candle; the warm oil (it’s like Shea butter) from the candle is then poured over the body for a prolonged body massage, using deep and soothing movements. This massage eases tension whilst natural antioxidants will hydrate and nourish the skin. Pure beaut as they say in some parts. Pure bliss.

We stayed much longer than expected, and left very relaxed at around 2pm.

The Rabbit Retreat is definitely somewhere special to try out and a fantastic treat for you or gift for someone.
