Review: Riley Green

Review: Riley Green

Riley Green played the Waterfront Hall tonight to a packed house full of denim, cowboy hats, baseball caps and country music lovers.

Supported by Erik Dylan and Hannah McFarland who both got the crowd in the mood with superb performances.

Riley arrived on stage at 9pm with a big band (there were 9 people on stage) and took us on a journey through his US Country chart hits, his latest album Don’t Mind If I Do and some classic country.

As always the Belfast audience were singing along and wanting more, and he kept giving us more at the end. At one point turning the house lights off and we lit up the auditorium with our phone lights as he sang, I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died, it was beautiful and emotional.

Belfast was the penultimate night of his UK and Ireland tour before he heads back across Atlantic for an extensive U.S. tour.

What a superb night with an enthusiastic crowd and a charismatic country star.
