We are racing towards the end of the month and some early autumn events are finishing up their run in the theatres. But the big event for Belfast communities this weekend is the Townsend Street party. Maybe you’re heading to the SSE to watch Les Mis… this weekend’s big touring production.
Block Party on Townsend Street
On Saturday 21 September, Ulster Orchestra, Zeppo Arts and Townsend Enterprise Park are holding an exciting community street party on Townsend Street, Belfast as part of Belfast2024.
There’ll be live music from String Ninjas, Winnie Ama, Utropiks, Boom Strutt Brass Band and others, bustling markets, energetic dance performances, delicious food offerings and more. The evening will end with a special performance by the Ulster Orchestra, playing three newly commissioned works about Townsend Street by composers Úna Monaghan, Rory Friers and Jamie Thompson.
