The Ivy Belfast, an exquisite dining experience

The Ivy Belfast, an exquisite dining experience

It’s been hyped with a great pre opening marketing campaign, it’s had a massive launch event, and anytime I walk past it’s busy busy busy. It’s a beautiful restaurant, like really stunning, and it’s in a prime spot right across the street from Belfast City Hall. We were invited to dine in The Ivy by their London HQ team and to share our experience.

And we really loved it, it felt special, the team in their smart green Ivy uniforms, the exceptional service from Barry our waiter, the stunning decor in the large restaurant, and the food. Our food mains were delicious, but the desserts stole the show.

🍲 Irish Stout and Onion soup (£8.75) was dark and rich with a cheese and crouton side which I plunged into the soup, and why not!

🍽️ The Black Truffle risotto main (£19.95) was a bit on the small side for the price but was perfectly cooked and the gold leaf was an extra special touch.

🍔 The Ivy cheeseburger (£18.95)  with added bacon (£2.95) was a decent size and very tasty.

🍫 The Ivy Chocolate Bomb (£11.50). If you haven’t seen a chocolate bomb before you’ll love the spectacle of the presentation. Taste wise it was the bomb, without doubt my favourite part of the meal.

🍏 Apple Tart Fine (£11.95), both desserts were an absolute highlight and worth going for just them. I hear it was my plus one’s best ever apple tart.

💚 Would I go back… absolutely yes I would, if I get to a restaurant to review and enjoy it, I always go back.. sometimes many many times! I think that will be the case with The Ivy.

This stunning restaurant is your new Belfast go to place for a special occasion, we were surrounded by people celebrating something, a birthday, an anniversary, or just life. It’s a treat, so treat yourself, and maybe I’ll see you there soon.
