Ards and North Down Borough Council is gearing up for an autumnal celebration of local food and drink across the Borough. Throughout September and October, you will have the opportunity to savour seasonal produce, experience some of the boroughs finest food and drink at various foodie experiences and to purchase directly from local producers and suppliers at the Taste Ards and North Down food markets.

Highlights include

Tide and Turf, Portavogie 

Saturday 11 September, 12noon – 5pm 

The main event on Saturday 11th September for a celebration of fantastic local produce and lots of family fun. 

It will be foodie heaven, with the chance to feast on delicious treats, see live demos from great chefs and meet some local food and drink heroes. 

With great music, entertainment and lots of fun kids activities - it will be a perfect day out for foodie families!

Enjoy unique autumn experiences celebrating seasonal tide and turf produce and showcasing some of the borough's finest local food and drink.  

Saturday 4th September: Saltwater Brig's Surf & Turf Showcase

Friday 10th September: Lekker's Local Food Showcase

Thursday 30th September: Alexanders of  Holywood - Local Food Showcase

Wednesday 6th October: Grace Neill's Local Food Showcase

Thursday 14th October: A local Food Showcase with No 14 at The Georgian House

Thursday 21st October: Salty Dog Presents Surf & Turf

 

Local Food and Drink Markets

Ards and North Down is well known for wonderful local markets which have been a tradition for over 100 years. From Bangor to Comber, Newtownards to Portaferry, throughout September and October there will be lots of opportunities to taste Ards and North Down's seasonal fayre.

Comber Farmers' Market - During the festival the highly acclaimed monthly artisan food market will take place on Thursday 2 September and Thursday 7 October  9am - 1pm - Find out more 

The Market on the Square, Portaferry - Visit Portaferry's Market on the Square on the first Saturday of the month 10am - 1.30pm -  Find out more 

Newtownards Harvest Fair - Newtownards Market will be running their traditional Harvest Fair on Thursday 23 September Conway Square, Newtownards  8am - 5pm

Join the expert Gardening team at the Gardener’s Bothy in Castle Espie and learn how to grow your own and take care of your garden in an environmentally friendly way. 

SUP-NIC (Paddle and Supper) 
Saturday 18 September |4pm - 6pm| £40pp |Meeting place: Donaghadee Harbour 

Paddleboarding from Donaghadee with a gourmet picnic on the water. Enjoy getting on the water with this guided paddleboarding experience, take in great water’s edge views and hear local tales. Then as you rest on your paddleboard, tuck into a gourmet picnic from a local deli as you enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
