Open House Festival 2026 Brings Lisa Hannigan and Deirdre O’Kane to Bangor

Open House Festival returns to Bangor this August with more than fifty events already announced, bringing a mix of music, comedy and literature to the city across the month.

Now in its thirteenth year, the festival is expected to attract around fifty thousand visitors, with Bangor Castle Walled Garden and The Court House on the seafront once again serving as its main venues.

Lisa Hannigan, The Staves, Deirdre O’Kane and The Tallest Man on Earth headline this year’s programme, joined by Ashley Campbell, The Henry Girls, Luka Bloom, Skinny Living and The Florentinas.

Comedy remains a key part of the line up, with Neil Delamere and Emer Maguire also confirmed.

The wider programme includes literary events with Andrew Lownie and Sally Hayden, alongside a debut novel appearance from Gina Goldhammer.

Elsewhere, there will be a Court House residency with Madi McCullough, a photography exhibition by Rachel McCarthy, and a DJ set from Pete Snodden.

Free events return alongside the main programme, including the Picnic in the Park series in Ward Park, running on Sunday afternoons throughout July and August.

The festival runs from 1 to 31 August, with tickets on sale from 10am on Thursday 9 April.
