Hit The North Belfast: The Street Art Festival Transforming the City

Each year, Seedhead Arts transforms Belfast into an open air gallery through Hit The North, Ireland’s largest street art festival.

What began in 2013 as a response to empty space around North Street has grown into something much bigger. Today, hundreds of murals shape how the city looks and feels, turning overlooked walls into moments of colour, scale and expression.

For a few days each spring, artists from across Ireland, the UK and beyond repaint parts of the city in real time. The highlight is the Sunday paint jam, where crowds gather to watch large scale works come to life in the Cathedral Quarter.

But the real impact lasts far beyond the weekend. The murals remain, quietly changing how Belfast is seen and experienced day to day.

Hit The North does not just decorate the city. It reflects it, one wall at a time.

HIT THE NORTH WILL RETURN IN 2026
30 APRIL - 3 MAY 2026
