The NI Science Festival is set to return from 11–22 February 2026, celebrating its 12th year with an ambitious programme of over 300 events designed to ignite curiosity in audiences of all ages.
Spanning every corner of Northern Ireland, the 2026 Festival will take place in locations including Belfast, Enniskillen, Rathlin Island, and Strabane, ensuring that communities across the region can take part. Whether you’re based in a city, town, or rural area, the NI Science Festival invites audiences everywhere to get involved.
Each February, NI Science Festival celebrates the wonders of science, technology, engineering, the arts and maths (STEAM) through a vibrant and inclusive programme. From cutting-edge research to everyday discoveries, the Festival brings science to life through:
- Inspiring talks and panel discussions
- Hands-on workshops and interactive experiences
- Exhibitions and film screenings
- Unique events for families, schools, students, and lifelong learners
The Festival’s aim is to inspire curiosity, spark conversation, and highlight how science shapes our world; from our environment and health to creativity, culture, and innovation.
Since launching its first Festival in February 2015, NI Science Festival has grown into one of the largest celebrations of science in the UK and Ireland, connecting leading scientists, thinkers, artists, and creators with audiences from all backgrounds.
Whether you’re a family discovering dinosaurs for the first time, a student exploring future careers in STEAM, or a lifelong learner fascinated by the universe, NI Science Festival 2026 invites you to be curious.
