Cuckoo Land Brings the Women’s Coalition Story to the MAC This April

A bold new production arrives at the MAC from April 11 to 26, as Cuckoo Land revisits the rise of the Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition 30 years on.

Produced by Kabosh Theatre Company, the show blends live music and storytelling in a high energy piece of gig theatre. Directed by Paula McFetridge, it explores how a group of women built a political party in just six weeks and went on to help shape the Good Friday Agreement.

Written by Vittoria Cafolla with music by Katie Richardson, the production brings together a strong local cast and a striking Pop Art visual style.

Rooted in kitchen tables, community halls and determination, Cuckoo Land tells a story of collaboration, resilience and a different kind of political courage.

Loud, colourful and long overdue, it introduces a new generation to a defining moment in Northern Ireland’s history.
