There are certain menus that feel perfectly timed for January; comforting, familiar, and quietly indulgent, and The Ivy Belfast Brasserie’s Taste of Ireland is one of them. Now back with new additions, the set menu celebrates local produce and Irish flavours in a format designed for long lunches, early dinners or a relaxed evening in the city.
Available daily from 11.30am until close, the menu offers two courses for £20.95, with the option to add dessert for £5. It’s a simple, good-value way to enjoy the Ivy experience; polished interiors, generous plates and seasonal Irish ingredients at the centre of it all.
Starters range from comforting to fresh: think rich stout and onion soup with wheaten soda bread and melted cheddar, crisp beetroot and endive salad, and small plates that lean a little more contemporary, including duck croquettes and smoked salmon rillettes.
Mains deliver the kind of winter dining Belfast does best: a classic Ivy Shepherd’s Pie with slow-braised lamb and beef, rich mash and rosemary gravy, alongside lighter options such as smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes with a poached egg and herb sauce. Vegetarians are well catered for too, with chargrilled halloumi paired with vibrant grains and smoky aubergine. Those looking to elevate the occasion can upgrade to a chargrilled bistro steak for a small supplement.
Dessert is optional, but tempting, with choices including Baileys chocolate mousse, berries with coconut ice cream, local cheese with oat crackers, or a selection of farm-made ice creams and sorbets.
Taste of Ireland is available now at The Ivy Belfast Brasserie.
