COSMO Belfast Review | All You Can Eat Buffet

COSMO Belfast Review | All You Can Eat Buffet

An all you can eat buffet in Belfast with a huge selection of food from around the world.

At the top of Victoria Square, COSMO is tucked away beyond what used to be a much busier row of restaurants. It might feel a little on its own up there these days, but step inside and that’s quickly forgotten.

COSMO is big, busy and all about choice.

Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Italian dishes sit alongside salads, breads, rice, vegetables, a carvery and plenty more. The temptation is to fill your plate immediately, but there’s really no need. Take a little, go back, try something else and repeat.

That’s part of the fun.

A bao bun beside fried rice, naan, vegetables and something sweet and sour might not be a combination you’d ever order from a menu, but here it somehow makes complete sense.

One of the things that surprised us on our visit was just how much there was to choose from. Another was the service. Despite the size of the restaurant and the number of people moving between the buffet and their tables, plates were cleared and everything kept moving.

And then there’s dessert.

Ice cream, cakes, profiteroles, sweets and marshmallows make restraint increasingly unlikely. Then you spot the chocolate fountain.

Our dessert plate wasn’t particularly elegant. It was, however, very good fun.

COSMO isn’t trying to be a fancy restaurant with a carefully edited menu. It’s the opposite. It’s somewhere to arrive hungry, try things you wouldn’t normally put together and probably make one more trip to the buffet than you intended.

Would we go back?

YES!
